Gujarat Biotechnology Venture Fund
Gujarat Biotechnology Venture Fund was launched in 2005 at initiative of Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission. The Fund is a 12 year close Fund. The fund identifies start ups, early stage and existing companies in areas of Bio-Pharma, Agri-Biotech, Contract Research, Industrial Biotechnology and other potential areas in Biotechnology. The Fund invested into four companies and exited from one.
Gujarat IT Fund
Gujarat IT Fund was formed with an initiative from Government of Gujarat in the year 2000 to promote IT companies of the state. The fund is a niche fund focused at funding new and existing medium sized ventures in the IT sector. Profile of the investee companies ranges from Pure play Mobile VAS to radio frequency identification products to Solar based lighting. The fund has invested into 10 companies and exited from 4.
GVCF 1990
GVCF 1990 was the first fund of GVFL. The main focus of this Fund were startup companies based on new technologies or closely held technologies with innovative products, process and services. The fund invested into 26 companies all over India. The fund has been liquidated with profits to investors.
GVCF 1995
GVCF 1995 was created after announcement of SEBI’s guidelines for Venture capital. Investment strategy of GVFL for this fund was based on these guidelines. In the first half GVCF 1995 continued focusing on small and medium start up and early stage companies. It shifted its focus towards software sector with emergence of IT sector in India.
GVCF 1997
GVCF 1997 was launched for the small sector with emphasis on IT industry. The duration of the fund was 12 years. The broad theme of the fund was to support innovative software product based companies, across India. Investments were made in companies as diverse and innovative, as Chip designing to telecom based products. It has been liquidated with profits in 2008.
Golden Gujarat Growth Fund-1
Golden Gujarat Growth Fund-l is a SEBI registered 7 years closed ended sector agnostic Fund.
The Fund is a ‘growth stage’ fund investing in high growth companies in manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.
SME Technology Venture Fund
SME Technology Venture Fund was launched in 2008. The fund is being invested in various technology based projects at growth stage. Broad mandate of the fund is to invest in companies, on pan Indian basis, with good technology either as an enabler or differentiator. The duration of the fund is 8 years and GVFL has already made six investments from this fund.
